My Mission
I am passionate about helping people who are feeling in any way ‘stuck’, or who need help with stress, anxiety or overwhelm, to break free from the issues which are holding them back and discover ways to live with greater ease. My mission is for you to successfully learn the practical tools that will enable you to help yourself. My ultimate aim is for you to become your own therapist.
About Me
I'm Marie, a qualified Hypno-CBT therapist. Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for working with people. For over twenty-five years, I worked in the Education Sector as a teacher and in a Senior Management role. As a teacher, it was a privilege to be engaged in the development and nurture of young people. I enjoyed my job immensely, especially the excitement and energy of the learning environment. Nevertheless, working within teaching over a long period of time also allowed me to see first-hand the extent to which a sense of overwhelm and stress could impact upon both career and work life balance. I could also see the same problems presenting themselves with people working in other professions.
One of my particular interests now is in helping people to find effective ways to deal with the inevitable demands and pressures of the workplace whilst retaining the passion and purpose which brought them into their job in the first place.

As well as a passion for teaching, I have always had a great interest in Psychology. Two particular things overlapped between my teaching career and my interest in psychology which crystallised by decision to train as a Hypno-CBT Therapist. First, I was delighted to be asked to be in charge of developing a ‘Growth Mindset’ initiative across school, based on the influential work of Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck. I saw first hand the positive impact that exploring and developing a Mindset of ‘Growth’ and possibility as opposed to a ‘Fixed’ mindset (of inevitable limitation) had upon the pupils’ wellbeing and in their excitement in meeting challenge. Secondly, I had the good fortune to train as a ‘Mindfulness in Schools’ Teacher. I taught the Course within school and again I saw first hand the beneficial effects that this learning in the art of ‘How to be Mindful’ had on the self-understanding, emotional well-being and confidence of the pupils.
It is wonderful to see that psychological wellbeing is being taught as part of the curriculum for today’s students and it reignited a real interest in this area within me. So, after twenty five years at the chalk face, I decided to challenge myself, step outside my comfort zone and train for something new in an area for which I felt a real passion. Moving from teacher to therapist was an exciting and natural transition

When I found a training course which combined Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Hypnotherapy, I knew immediately that this was what I wanted to pursue. I was accepted onto the course, enjoyed it immensely, and was subsequently awarded my Diploma.

So, after a rewarding teaching career, I am now delighted to help people discover the tools to enable them to live life with greater motivation, confidence enjoyment and ease. It is always a huge privilege to see the changes that people make in their lives and their delight in their achievements.

I am registered with the GHR and I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist.

A little bit about my personal life: I am married with two adult children. I enjoy walking, running, meeting friends, reading, the cinema, theatre and travel. Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, I have also volunteered for the NHS as a Check In and Chat Volunteer and very much enjoy this role. Recently, after a long and happy time living in North Yorkshire in the UK, my husband and I decided to follow a dream and have an adventure and we moved to a beautiful rural seaside location in Co Wexford in Ireland.
