Times of Transition in Life

Are you at a particular time of Transition in your life and feeling ‘stuck’ and seeking to find positive ways forward?
Change as a constant.

Change is a constant in life; things are always unfolding and changing, whether we consciously realise it or not. However, there are particular times in our lives- times of transition- when the changes can be significantly more challenging than usual.
​
It might be: leaving home, starting or leaving university, beginning work, changing jobs or returning to work after a career break, semi or full retirement. It could be: moving house, children leaving home and subsequent ‘Empty Nest Syndrome’, deciding to take a new path in life… and so forth.
​
Although all of these transitions can all be times of great excitement, new possibility and growth, they can also be times of uncertainty and loss as we leave old familiar ways behind and reach out into the unknown. There is a disruption to what is comfortable and predictable (and to the way of life we may have known for years) and there can be an accompanying sense of unease. Transitions challenge us.

They mark the end of a current life stage and the opportunity to welcome in the start of something new. They are periods of uncertainty, whilst at the same time being ones of great transformation. At times like these, we can sometimes feel ‘stuck’ between the old and the new. We might appreciate all that the new changed situation will bring into our lives, but at the same time, the need to now do things differently and move outside of our comfort zones can be somewhat scary.

How can we work together to make this time of transition easier to navigate, enabling you to appreciate the adventure it holds?

Through using CBT techniques integrated with Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness, tailored to suit your individual needs, you can begin to quell any unease and take the time to acknowledge and enjoy the new opportunities
which are currently unfolding in your life. New adventures are opening up, and you have the opportunity to explore them.

CBT will help you examine your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours at this time of transition and help you to clarify what is currently serving you and what is not. We will take time to examine your values-what is important to you in the way you live your life- and look at what you want to achieve in accordance with these. We will then work together to set your goals and plan out how to get there.
​
Through Hypnotherapy, you will have the chance to deeply embed all this new learning, whilst at the same time experiencing a wonderful state of deep relaxation of both body and mind. With this greater sense of clarity and well- being, you will find it much easier to navigate new ways of doing things. In addition, Mindfulness techniques allow you to develop a greater sense of peace as you learn to live more fully in the present moment without undue rumination about the past or future. You learn to more fully experience the joy and opportunities that exist for you right here in the ‘Now’.
