From our initial phone conversation onwards, Marie made me feel completely at ease. She is warm, kind and approachable, and I felt I could trust her. She is an excellent listener and I felt totally understood. I was feeling very anxious and panicky about giving a workplace speech. Marie immediately helped me to see that I could find a way through this. Straight away, the CBT helped me to challenge my current thinking and I could see how I was limiting myself. We set achievable goals to get me to where I needed to be and it all felt do-able.

During the hypnotherapy, I prepared for giving the speech. She recorded them and I found that listening to the recordings became my switch off time and it was easy and enjoyable. Marie’s voice is gentle and soothing and I felt extremely relaxed. All of it helped me to feel very prepared and I believed that I could do it. On the night, I felt so much calmer than I could have possibly imagined and it all went smoothly.

I was extremely satisfied by the professionalism and approach used by Marie. This therapy helped me deal with my sleeping problems and depression. Marie provided an excellent service particularly through introducing me to CBT and mindfulness which helped me to challenge thoughts and behaviours which were holding me back and this helped me make significant improvements. I was able reduce my anxiety and I really improved my sleeping patterns through listening to the therapy audios which she provided from our sessions. I started sessions with Marie in the last few weeks of my teacher training course, when I was really stressed and overwhelmed about finishing my placement and dissertation at the same time. I wish that I had started sessions a lot sooner! The hypnotherapy allowed my whole body to relax, and I found that I would be much more energized and productive the rest of the day. Marie also recorded these sessions so that I could listen back to them whenever I needed to reset my anxiety levels. I now feel so much more positive going into placement and feel more capable to deal with the stresses of day-to-day life.

I have been having therapy sessions, which included CBT, Mindfulness and Hypnotherapy with Marie Willis for weight loss, low mood, anxiety and poor sleep.
I found her at all times to be highly professional. She is such a warm and empathetic lady. She has an extremely calming voice and as soon as I listened to my recordings, which she provided after each session, I would feel, calm and relaxed, often falling into a deep sleep.

After we had discussed my goals, Marie set me small achievable tasks to work on to move towards them.

Since doing the CBT, we have challenged my old thinking and behavioural patterns whereby I would often go to the shop on a daily basis and buy a large bar of chocolate and feel dreadful after eating the whole lot in one sitting.
Since my sessions I rarely buy a bar of chocolate and feel in more control of my eating, I feel that these new habits have changed my life. Now if I do want chocolate, I have a small bar and it is not something I now need daily. Through CBT, we analysed my thinking, feelings and behaviour patterns and explored why I often went for poor food choices in the first place. After learning CBT and Mindfulness techniques, I am now much more aware of my food choices and am much more aware of my feelings. Although my original goal was to find ways to improve my food choices and ultimately lose weight, I have made so many other positive changes. One is that I now have a much better sleep routine and no longer feel tired. If I can't sleep, I now have the tools to allow myself to sleep with the help of my hypnotherapy recordings. These were often 15 to 20 minutes long and were easy to fit into my daily bedtime routine as they were so enjoyable. I am now feeling a much happier person. I feel in control of my eating habits and have managed to instil a healthier lifestyle. I cannot thank Marie enough for her hard work and professional service, that really works. She is brilliant!

I came with a phobia and from the onset, Marie drew from me how I was feeling, requiring me to evaluate my fear and to think about it in a very detailed and measured way. From that, she explained the way in which we would be able to work together to help resolve my fear.

The relaxation sessions were very good and Marie’s voice throughout these was very soothing and calm but also assertive.
We discussed and evaluated the progress that had been achieved after each session in a very detailed and encouraging way. Homework was also given to allow me to continue at home.

Marie was excellent. I approached her with an anxiety related work issue. She has really good inter personal skills and is a great listener, clarifying and summarizing in a methodical manner.
